Kia Orana and Hello!
My name is Elizabeth Putaura. I was born in Rarotonga, Cook Islands and raised in New Zealand, and now live in Nelson where I completed my BA in Counselling.
I am a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors.

I support people navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, relational difficulties, identity exploration, and experiences of abuse or violence.

Everyone arrives through a different doorway. Some people come to counselling privately, while others are referred through workplace wellbeing or funded support pathways.

I currently provide counselling through private appointments, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), OCP, and selected funded services.

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and paced.
I pay attention to nervous system safety, relational patterns, and the wider context of your life. Alongside counselling, I may draw on astrological frameworks as a navigational language—not to predict outcomes or define who you are, but to help locate where you are and what kind of care is needed now.
You don’t need to believe in astrology to work with me. Your lived experience always comes first.

Our work together is collaborative and responsive. Sessions are paced, consent-based, and shaped around what feels manageable and meaningful for you.
Therapy may involve exploring emotional patterns, identity, boundaries, trauma responses, and periods of transition—always with care for timing and capacity.

There is no expectation to disclose everything at once, or to work in ways that don’t feel right for you. Therapy is not about pushing through—it’s about listening closely to what’s already happening.

If you feel I might be the right fit for you, and you would like to explore the possibility of positive change through a confidential, non-judgmental conversation, please get in touch.

Elizabeth
